Urinary (UR)

Feline lower urinary tract disease (DTUIF) has struvite urolithiasis (magnesium ammonium phosphate) as one of the main factors causing it. High concentrations of solute, associated with decreased frequency of urination, result in urine supersaturation, and are factors that can cause the formation of stones. Controlled levels of magnesium and phosphorus help control the Struvite Activity Products (SAP) system by minimizing the concentrations of these struvite structural components. To prevent the appearance of struvite uroliths, the most efficient method is to change the urinary pH through the diet. Because struvite stones develop in alkaline urinary pH, it is recommended to reduce it, since acidic urine is essential in the dissolution of the urolith. The level of urinary acidification is determined by the proteins in the food and urinary acidifiers, used with moderation.

Equilíbrio Veterinary® Urinary Gatos – UR has components that help prevent and dissolve struvite stones and reach the urinary pH range of 5.8 to 6.2.
